Members of the Cancer Association of South Africa’s (CANSA) Relay For Life Mitchell’s Plain committee stopped cars in AZ Berman and Morgenster Roads, in Lentegeur, on Saturday October 21 to recruit participants for their annual event.
They distributed about 250 pamphlets at Westridge gardens, Liberty Promenade and Westgate malls within three hours.
Relay For Life is an overnight event which sees teams of 10 to 15 people spending up to 12 hours walking or running around a track.
It is a celebration of surviving cancer. To avoid disappointment, they would like survivors and participants to register by Saturday February 10, next year, three weeks before the event which is scheduled to take place at Stephen Reagon Sportsfield,
in Westridge, on Friday March 2. For registration and more information, call Ms Oudtshoorn on 073 343 1014 or Ms Abrahams on 061 494 1413.
