Mitchell’s Plain police arrested a 35-year-old man for possession of drugs in Kennetjie Street, Beacon Valley, on Saturday November 2, at 9.15pm.

Police found 130 units of heroin, three whole and five half mandrax tablets and two packets of tik in a plastic bag in the bedroom.

A 22-year-old man was arrested and faces a charge of unlawful possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition after he was caught with a Star pistol with a magazine and one 9mm live round of ammunition in Boeing Street, Rocklands, on Friday November 1, at 6.30pm.

Mitchell’s Plain police found two large plastic bags filled with 1.3kg of compressed dagga hidden inside the ceiling of a shop in Rondo Lane, Town Centre, on Tuesday October 29, at 12.15pm.

The dagga has an estimated street value of R10 000.

A 24-year-old Egyptian man was arrested.

Police arrested a 61-year-old man in White Hall Street, Portland, for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition on Monday October 28, at about 5.20pm.

Police received an anonymous tip-off that firearms were being stored at a house.

During the search the officers found two pistols, a CZ 75 and a Glock with 28 rounds of live ammunition in a bedroom.
