Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after a 29-year-old woman was found dead on Baden Powell Drive, in Rocklands, on Friday May 19. According to police, the woman had apparently been knocked over by a white VW Polo and the driver left without stopping.
The vehicle was driving on a blocked off portion of the road and had driven over some cones before knocking over the woman.

A man was arrested in Colorado Park on Saturday May 27 for being in possession of a black Norinco NZ-75 pistol with one magazine containing four rounds of ammunition.
Lentegeur police had spotted the man with the firearm chasing somebody else.
Police had attempted to take the firearm from him but he resisted and got into a white Nissan NP200 bakkie which stopped next to him.
The man, from Lavender Hill, was then arrested for being in possession of a firearm without a licence and the illegal possession of ammunition.
Mitchell’s Plain police have opened a case of attempted murder after a shooting in the bush in Coral Street, Rocklands, on Friday May 26.
A group of friends were allegedly smoking dagga in the bush when somebody fired several shots at them.
One man sustained two gunshot wounds to his buttocks and one of his friends sustained was shot in his right ankle and buttocks. Mitchell’s Plain spokesperson Captain Nozuko Makwayiba said the suspect is alleged to be affiliated to a gang.
“It is further alleged that victims were mistaken for gangsters due to retaliation on a murder case earlier. There is currently a gang war between school boys and gangs in the area.

A man was arrested for being in possession of 59 mandrax tablets, 40 packets of tik, 75 units of heroin and undisclosed amount of money in Camp road, Mcindane informal settlement, on Wednesday May 3, at 5.10pm.
Strandfontein police crime prevention unit were doing foot patrols and found the man in a bushy area carrying a bag. The man has been charged with drug dealing.
