Police arrest two for drug possession

On Saturday June 30, at about 6:30pm, Mitchell’s Plain police were patrolling in Biendonne Street, Westridge, when they saw a man who raised their suspicions.

When they stopped and searched him, police found 20 straws containing heroin and 66 mandrax tablets in his possession.

The 35-year-old was arrested for possession of drugs and is expected to soon appear in court.

On Saturday June 30, around 10.10pm, Mitchells Plain police received information about drugs being kept at a premises in Bakenskop Street.

Police seized 1 940 mandrax tablets as well as a container with four live 9mm rounds and R1 846 in cash.

A 41-year-old man was arrested for possession of drugs as well as a second charge of unlawful possession of ammunition .
