‘Plain relay for cancer

Members of Women Walks to Wellness were lit at Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) Relay for Life Mitchell’s Plain.

Mitchell’s Plain cancer survivors, their love ones and caregivers enjoyed a night under the stars.

They participated in the annual overnight fund-raiser Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) Relay for Life Mitchell’s Plain at Westridge High School on Friday March 3.

The 12-hour event, which has at least one member on the track throughout the night, demonstrates that cancer never sleeps.

Teams raise funds before and during the relay, which are dedicated to funding CANSA’s unique, integrated service within their community.

Shaheema Diedericks, from New Woodlands, was Queen bee.

Cancer Cadres say cancer should not be ignored. They said early detection is key.
