■ Health MEC, Dr Nomafrench Mbombo, marked the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month at Mitchell’s Plain District Hospital with PinkDrive. Throughout the month there will be increased awareness of this debilitating disease on not only the female population, but also the under-emphasised diagnosis in men. Breast cancer is a major cause of cancer mortality, accounting for 16% of cancer deaths among women.
