The City has added buses and changed the peak routes on the Mitchell’s Plain MyCiTi service.
There will be more buses on both the D04 Kapteinsklip and D03 Town Centre routes. The extra buses means that there will be a bus every 12 minutes during the morning peak period. However, not all the D04 buses will stop at the Town Centre. Some of the morning buses will skip the Mitchell’s Plain station stop during the peak-hour period.
The City’s mayoral committee member for transport and urban development, Brett Herron, said the MyCiTi service was the “tip of the iceberg” in achieving the City’s 2032 goal of giving residents “easy access to efficient, sustainable and affordable public transport”.
The service will also give residents a free ride on Sunday October 29. “On this day, commuters will have an opportunity to hop on the bus and travel as far they like and as often as they want. They can visit friends and family or enjoy being tourists in their own city, free of charge. No myconnect card is necessary on the day,” he said.
