Westridge-based educare Sam’s Stars held their mid-year concert on Saturday June 9 at the Lentegeur Psychiatric hospital’s main hall. The theme for the concert was “SA must rise again”.
“Our kids and families are exposed to violence and discord on such a regular basis that it could and could already seem to be the norm,” said Samantha Daniels, the principal of Sam’s Stars. Some of the songs they performed were from the musical productions Sarafina and District 6. “We wanted our children and the audience to have a sense of hope and feel that not only as a nation but as a community, we can rise again,” said Ms Daniels.
