Mitchell’s Plain Crime Prevention Unit members arrested a 24-year-old alleged gang member after searching a house in Du Toits Street, Tafelsig, on Saturday May 7.
Police found 176 full mandrax tablets, 50 bankies of tik and R470 in cash and the man faces charges related to dealing in drugs.
On the same day, a 52-year-old man was arrested for possession of drugs after Mitchell’s Plain Crime Prevention Unit spotted a white bakkie reversing out of a well-known drug house in Orangekloof Street, Tafelsig.
Police searched the house and recovered 50 full mandrax tablets and one bankie of tik.
In another case, a 38-year-old man was arrested for being in possession of illegal ammunition on Friday May 6.
Mitchell’s Plain Crime Prevention Unit members received information about a firearm and ammunition being kept at a premises at Wanda Street, Tafelsig.
During a search they found four Luger 9mm ammunition rounds, which are used in a pistol firearm.
