Lentegeur police arrested a 52-year-man during a stop and search operation after he was found to be in possession of 100 mandrax tablets.
Sergeant Elrico Randell Daniels and Constable Astrid Hermanus were patrolling in Lantana Street, when they saw the man coming from a known drug hotspot on Sunday, November 19, at 3.30pm.
Lentegeur police station commander Colonel Umavathie Rameshwarnath told the Plainsman on Monday November 20 that the man was caught with the tablets in his pocket when he was searched.
The man was due to appear in Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s Court yesterday, Tuesday November 21.
