A 59-year-old man was shot dead in Eisleben Road, Lentegeur, on Wednesday May 4.
Lentegeur SAPS received a complaint of a shooting at a garage near Eisleben Road at 9.50pm. When police arrived at the scene, they found the man’s body lying on the ground. He had sustained gunshot wounds to his head and stomach. Police retrieved multiple cartridges in Eisleben Road. The motive for the shooting is unknown and no arrests have been made.

- In another incident, a 40-year-old man was arrested for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition on Sunday May 8.
Mitchell’s Plain police officers patrolling in Stag Crescent, Eastridge, at 1pm, stopped and searched a man who was found to have a black Norico firearm with one magazine containing seven rounds of ammunition.
The man was confirmed to be a gang member.
- On Wednesday May 4, Raymond Morris was sentenced in Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s Court to an nine years behind bars on charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
