A man was killed yesterday morning after a taxi and four vehicles collided on Jakes Gerwel Drive near Samora Machel.
ER24 paramedics, along with rescue services, arrived on the scene yesterday, Tuesday March 8 and found several wrecked vehicles, including the Toyota Quantum taxi, blocking the double lane road.
When paramedics inspected one of the light motor vehicles, they found the lifeless body of a man lying trapped inside his vehicle.
On assessment, paramedics found that the man had already succumbed to his multiple fatal injuries and he was declared dead on the scene. Rescue services had to use the jaws-of-life equipment to free the deceased from the vehicle. No other injuries were reported among the other motorists and the driver of the taxi was not found on the scene. Local authorities are investigating the incident.
