Friends of Town Centre Library’s Mitchell’s Plain Alive initiative will be hosting a celebrity literature reading week until Thursday December 19.
Dynamic speakers, comedians, poets, authors, radio and television personalities will enthuse readers with their favourite books and texts at 11am.
The programme started yesterday, Tuesday December 10, with Kaap, Kerrie en Koesiesters cookbook co-author Gadija Sydow and owner of The Grillfather restaurant Shane Swiegelaar reading and discussing food.
Today, Wednesday December 11, radio personality Aden Thomas will be sharing his love for reading at 11am, with author and poet Janine Blaq Pearl presenting at 3pm.
Tomorrow, Thursday December 12, SA Music Awards (SAMA) nominee, singer and song writer Jarrad Ricketts and Theatre Arts and Drama Academy (TADA) performer Devon Swartz will be in discussion.
On Tuesday December 17 entrepreneur and comedian Wayne McKay will present at 11am and on Wednesday December 18 Shades of Cape Flats author Rodney Brown will be reading from his saucy debut novel.
Ending the programme on Thursday December 19, will be television presenter Katlego Maboe in conversation with mayoral committee member for community services and health, Dr Zahid Badroodien.
