Knit & Natter, a group of crafters, is growing and hopes to get even bigger during the Artscape Women’s Humanity Festival being held during Women’s Month in August.
If you love to knit or crochet, you can join the group for a stitch-along on Sunday August 6, at the Woman Zone Library, on the ground floor of the Artscape theatre, in the Cape Town city centre, from 3pm to 5pm.
Over the months the group has been making scarves and, as Women’s Month approaches, are knitting as fast as they can to provide colourful scarves to the residents of the Woodstock NOAH (Neighbourhood Old Age Homes) as a warming winter donation. Following this the aim of the group is to donate crafted wool products to a different charity every three months.
But they need your help – they are looking for wool donations. Wool, and any knitting needles or crochet hooks you might not be using, can be dropped off at the Woman Zone Library on a Friday between noon and 2pm.
This group of passionate crafters has been meeting at the Woman Zone Library on the first Sunday of every month. For some participants it has been a learning experience, for others a way to hone their craft and for all a way to network and connect with like-minded crafters.
Join them at the stitch-along with whatever is on your needles or an already made scarf. Tea and natter is guaranteed with this lively creative group so take yourself, wool, needles and your own refreshments for an inspiring and friendly afternoon. Entry is free. RSVP to info@womanzonect.co.za with Knit & Natter in the subject line before Thursday August 3.
