The production Keeper of Kumm will be staged at the Artscape Theatre until Sunday July 31. Written by the award-winning writer, filmmaker and journalist, Sylvia Vollenhoven, the play is the story of a battle-hardened, 21st century journalist who has to journey with her 19th century ancestor in a search for who she really is. The dance drama tells the story of how, for years, Elizabeth “Betjie” Petersen (played by Quanita Adams, pictured right) used journalism to expose apartheid. Now, she reluctantly responds to the call from a 19th century visionary, Kabbo (played by Elton Landrew, pictured left), to explore the world of her ancestors. Tickets cost R100 or R70 for pensioners and pupils 18 years old and younger. Book through Computicket. For more information, visit www.artscape.co.za
