■ Melomed Hospital in Mitchell’s Plain celebrated International Nurses Day on Florence Nightingale’s birth date, Friday May 12 at the hospital. To acknowledge their hard work, nurses were treated to a scrumptious lunch. Tammy Cleophas, the hospital’s client services officer, said the aim was to raise awareness of the important role nurses play in society. “The management of Melomed would like to wish our sincere appreciation to all nurses at our hospital. We salute you for your dedication and commitment to ensuring that the total recovery of our patients remains a core focus within this highly respected profession,” she said.
