Westville Primary School in Westridge celebrated National Women’s Day on Wednesday August 8, a day ahead of the actual public holiday. Pupils dressed up as kings, queens, princesses and princesses and the school held a special assembly to teach the pupils about the important role women play in society. Grade 6 pupils danced to Whitney Houston’s I’m Every Woman. Grade 6 and 7 pupils emphasised the importance of each woman regardless of her race, religion or occupation. The Grade 4s read a poem.
