Roadha Tul Atfaal held their five-day holiday programme at the Wolfgat Nature Reserve Environmental Education Centre in Searidge Park, Tafelsig, from Monday June 24 to Friday June 27. On Saturday June 28 they visited the Retreat indoor pools. Eighty-five young people attended the programme, with 70% of the youth selected from madressas in Searidge Park, Mitchells Heights and Freedom Park. They took part in bio-diversity awareness programmes, life skills, drug awareness, HIV awareness and water safety while the Metro police’s canine dog unit gave a demonstration. The youngsters were also taught how to create their own CVs and the importance of having a CV. They also participated in wood work, were taught how to craft their own egg holder from recycled wood, and how to craft their own towel holder.
