A bootcamp to promote health and fitness among the youth was held at Westridge Gardens from June 17 to June 27. The aim of the bootcamp was to provide a safe space for young people to learn about leading a healthy lifestyle and staying away from social ills. The organisers consisted of university students and high school pupils. One of the organisers, Sherwin Roodt, said: “Our goal is to give back to the community. We had three personal trainers doing the stretches and exercises with about 30 odd people. After our workout we had a feeding scheme where we served soup to everyone even if they weren’t a part of our bootcamp.”
