Ricardo Kolbe, from Tafelsig, who was born with Down syndrome, celebrated his 50th birthday on Sunday April 2. His sister, Charlene Jacobs, describes him as “a bundle of joy” and says he loves to dance and sing. He attended Mary Harding School, in Belgravia, from ages 4 to 16. He then moved to Trading Unlimited Workshop at the Liberty Promenade Shopping Centre. His mother, Monica, 78, who has raised three sons and a daughter, still looks after Ricardo and says, “We all love him to the moon and back.”
