Maylene Davids, from Grassy Park
I would like to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude for the service and care my late husband Raymond Davids received at the Mitchell’s Plain Hospital of Hope.
He spent just over three weeks at this facility before he succumbed to Covid-19 complications on January 30.
The nursing staff and doctors made a concerted effort at the facility to make his stay there comfortable, bearable and dignified.
I was able to contact him whenever I wanted to and often, even when he was asleep.
When he was asleep, one of the nurses would contact me to inform me that he is awake and I can contact him.
Too often impeccable service such as the service received at this facility go undocumented as the emphasis is often placed on the bad service, which is often a lot less than the good service.
This letter is therefore written as an acknowledgement that good will always triumph bad.
I wish the medical staff at the hospital all of the best.
They are performing a stellar job under the most difficult circumstances and at great risk of contracting the virus themselves.
May God bless them and keep them safe at all times and may they continue to provide a superlative sterling service to other families.
