Herman Bartie, Tafelsig
To President Cyril Ramaphosa and Lindiwe Zulu, Minister of Social Development:
We have a pensioner Pearl Jones, who applied for her first senior’s grant at the Mitchell’s Plain office of the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) office.
She received a letter signed by W Fortune at the Mitchell’s Plain branch. She has not yet received any pension grant.
I also brought this under the attention of the regional manager Munroe Jephta on Thursday June 4 and have yet to receive a response.
This is the treatment our pensioners get from public servants. In my opinion this is bad service delivery.
At the time of going to print, Sassa regional spokesperson, Shivani Wahabi, was on leave and Ms Zulu’s office failed to respond. The Plainsman will publish response(s) when we receive it.
