More than 30 Mitchell’s Plain and Strandfontein young women graduated from Refuge Fellowship Pentecostal Holiness Church’s Girls Ministry in Bayview on Sunday November 22.
They had participated in the ministry’s programmes throughout the year and amid the national Covid-19 lockdown they completed virtual sessions.
Director for the Girls Ministry, Wendy Abrahams, said the girls were eager and each of them were honoured with a gift. Elton Jansen, councillor for Ward 43 and chairman of Subcouncil 23 and the City of Cape Town’s department of social development donated snacks and toiletry packs towards the gifts.
The girls were split in age groups – Rainbows, aged birth to 8 years; Social Butterflies, aged 9 to 13 years; and Daughters of the King, aged 14 to 20.
