More than 100 children gathered at Lobelia community hall, in Lentegeur, for fun, games and gifts. Members of Lentegeur East Concerned Community (LECC) and the South African Islamic Council of Madaris (SAICOM) hosted them on Wednesday December 13. The LECC was established in 2007 and this was their third Christmas party for the children. The organisation also has a seniors’ club, which will reconvene on Monday January 22 next year. LECC chairman Cassiem Gamiet dressed up as Father Christmas to hand over gifts. “I just want to say thanks to all donors, and we look forward to serving the community next year,” he said.
