The business sector of the Mitchell’s Plain People’s Forum want local businesses to benefit at local construction sites.

They held a meeting, where a presentation was tabled on developments in and around Mitchell’s Plain, at Duneside Primary School, on Thursday July 5.

Chairman Danny Rass called on businesses to join them in approaching developers to employ local artisans, experts and upskill employees to be better trained once the job is done.

Projects include possible development at Denel, along Swartklip Road, bordering Khayelitsha; the Kapteinsklip precinct close to Mnandi beach; the Eastridge housing project; another phase of The Westridge; laying of fibre optic cable and the building of Tafelsig police station.
