Fire razes shacks

The fire left 28 people homeless.

Twenty-eight people were left homeless after a fire blazed through Masincedane informal settlement on Witsand and Camp roads, in Strandfontein, on Wednesday January 4, at 3.19pm. According to the City’s Fire and Rescue Service, two fire engines and one rescue vehicle were on the scene, dispatched from Mitchell’s Plain, Gugulethu and Roeland Street fire stations. The fire destroyed four shacks. Its cause still undetermined.
