Keli Mitchell, 26, from Westridge, has started her own feeding scheme with some of the funds coming from her own pocket, to help feed the community. She attends AtVance Academy in Portland where she studies occupational health and safety. She is unemployed and she and her husband sell treats to raise funds. “I see the crime in my area and it affects us. It may not be much but feeding the people is important to me. I do not want to give up on this and I will help where I can,” she said. Keli makes a pot of food and soup and feeds more than 40 people every Monday and Thursday. If you would like to make a donation, you can contact Keli on 061 384 8153.
