Plein Chamber will be talking to officials, from the office of the MEC for Economic Opportunities, Beverley Schafer, during a strategic planning meeting next week.
This comes after various Mitchell’s Plain business representatives and groups, including Mitchell’s Plain People’s Forum, Mitchell’s Plain United Residents’ Association (MURA) and EduBiz App, met with Ms Schafer at the SA Business Resources Institute (SABRI), a non-profit company, in Westridge on Tuesday April 30.
Sean Achim, chairman and chief executive officer of the chamber, said they were all about growing the economy of Mitchell’s Plain, but keeping the funds in the area to make it self-sustainable (“Follow-up summit re-examines vision”, Plainsman, February 13).
“We want Mitchell’s Plain to be the single-biggest contributor to the Western Cape’s gross geographic product (GGP) by 2026,” he said.
