The Baobab Crescent community in Eastridge enjoyed festivities on Youth Day.
Many young people attended the day filled with dancing, entertainment, and food handed to the community on Wednesday June 16.
Their message to the community was to have them encourage one another especially during this tough time, said Kashiefa Jacobs, who organised the event with her husband, Denzil Jacobs.
A nurse also spoke about breastfeeding, there were skills programmes for youngsters and the Youth Life Counts group offered to do sanitising and temperature checks at the event, said Ms Jacobs.
The Hood Kitchen hosted a burger eating challenge, the winner of which walked away with R600 in cash.
The children were also given burgers and the others who attended were given food made by the community.
They will be hosting a Heritage Day event on Friday September 24. For more information contact Ms Jacobs at 078 671 2571.
