Maureen Petersen, 80, and Jogera Cornish, 69, both from Portland, are members of St Mary Magdalene Seniors’ Club, who donated knitted, crocheted and embroidered goods for other seniors’ clubs, frail care centres, welfare homes and hospitals. Founding member Ms Petersen said many members used their pension to cut, make and sew children’s dresses, embroider pillow cases, make tablecloths and aprons, knitting children and babies’ caps and booties. The club celebrated its 22nd anniversary this year. They will meet after the lockdown at St Mary Magdalene Church, in Sunflower Street, Lentegeur, every Tuesday between 10am and 1pm.
