First Westridge Cubs received badges for participating in the Scouts South Africa national cubs’ diversity challenge. The aim of the programme was to teach the cubs, boys and girls aged between seven and 11, through games, to respect and embrace different cultures and increase awareness of disabled people. They discovered that in many ways, people from different cultures and backgrounds hold similar values and beliefs. The cubs completed the four-week challenge in October last year but only received their badges last month. The Cub pack meets at 3 Stirrup Street, in Westridge, every Thursday between 5pm and 6.30pm.
