The mother, siblings and two-year-old daughter of Raymonde Boltman are still battling to accept her disappearance two years after she was last seen.
On the day of her disappearance, April 20, 2016, 24-year-old Raymonde had been walking towards the bus stop in Eisleben Road near Clock Tower, around 5am.
For three years her mother, Lillian Boltman, had walked with her every morning to ensure she arrived safely at the bus stop. On the day Raymonde disappeared, she had left her daughter across the road from the bus stop and hasn’t seen her since.
When Raymonde’s sister, Genevieve Boltman, called to find out if she had arrived safely at work, the call went straight to voicemail.
“Nothing has happened since my sister has gone missing. There are no leads on the case, the police are dragging this case as they still, after two years, cannot tell us where our sister is,” said her sister, Rodelphia Boltman.
Initially, the family spent days looking for Raymonde, whose daughter was five months when she disappeared, but now they do not know what to do and are frustrated that the police are not updating them on the case.
“The police are not helping with the case; they are avoiding us. A sergeant, at the Lentegeur police station who helped us retired in 2017 and still nothing has come of Raymonde. The case has gone completely cold,” Rodelphia added.
Raymonde’s distraught mother told the Plainsman she just wanted to know what happened to her daughter. “Ek wil net weet, wat het met my dogter gebeur. Is sy alright? Is sy okay? Ek wil net peace * ê.”
At the time of her disappearance Raymonde was wearing blue denim jeans; a red and grey checked T-shirt; and tan ankle boots.
Sergeant Jerome Voegt from Mitchell’s Plain police station confirmed that Raymonde is still missing and that the case is still being investigated.
There is a R50 0000 reward for anyone who provides police with information which helps them find Raymonde. If you have any information, contact Detective Ivan Ryneveld at 083 648 6239 or call Lentegeur police station at 021 377 5000.
