The ejection of EFF members from Parliament is regrettable and not in the best interest of our democracy. However, the events that followed their exit on Tuesday May 17 should be of great concern to all South Africans.
A day that will live on in infamy as the country … no the world watched in horror as a “not so honourable” member launched a kick at the head of a female member. It was sickening to see and even worse to watch the incident being replayed on television repeatedly.

As educators, we teach our pupils to respect our elderly and our women – a task that has become extremely difficult in our country.
