Neighbours greeted each other jovially, sharing drinks and meals at the annual Daphne Crescent street party in Eastridge on Saturday December 16. The children were spoilt for choice by the street’s neighbourhood street party committee, who organised games, music and jumping castles for the celebration. Community leader Na-eema Jabaar said: “We as the community feel proud of ourselves, spending time together, especially with our children and each other.” The committee thanked Come and Play, from the City of Cape Town’s sports and recreation department, Ward 79 councillor Solomon Philander, SAPS and Metro police. The committee also hosts an annual meal for the elderly, which was a breakfast at Lady Bee, at Westgate Mall, also on Saturday December 16.
