Westridge’s Merino Block Watch held a crime awareness day at the Merino Field on Saturday September 29. The chairperson of the block watch, Bonita Wood, said: “It’s important that our youth in the community and made aware of drugs and crime. Crime takes place in our area most days and this could influence our youth negatively. It is time we stand up and take back our community and what belongs to us. Crime affects us all.”
