Cops seize hundreds of litres of liquor at Tafelsig house

It was not a dry run for Mitchell’s Plain police officers when, after acting on a tip-off, they searched the home of a 62-year-old woman in Tafelsig and found more than 400 litres of liquor.
The bust came about yesterday after police executed several warrants to search houses in Tafelsig where it was suspected liquor was being sold illegally.

During the search-and-seizure operation police were tipped off that alcohol was also being sold without a licence from a house in Matroosberg Street, Tafelsig.
The officers investigated and found 421 litres of liquor hidden inside a locked bedroom.

A 62-year-old woman was arrested for not having a valid licence to sell liquor and is due to appear the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s Court.
