Lentegeur police swooped on a house in Linaria Street, Lentegeur, at 3.30pm, on Wednesday March 22, where they recovered four 9mm rounds ammunition.
According to the spokeswoman for Lentegeur SAPS, Wynita Kleinsmith, the 36-year-old owner of the house was arrested for being in possession of illegal ammunition. He appeared in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s court on Thursday March 23.
Police are looking for the suspects who hijacked a woman and shot a man, 30, in the head, on the corner or Swartklip and Auber roads in Mandalay on Monday March 20.

On Friday March 17, at 10.30pm, Mitchell’s Plain police responded to a robbery at a shop on the corner of Dagbreek and Amandel streets in Westridge.
According to Captain Ian Williams, a man entered the shop wearing a hoodie and pointed a gun at the victim while demanding that he hand over the money from the cash register.
“A second suspect then entered the shop and took the bag before the suspects fled in a black Toyota bakkie with a white canopy. The suspects made off with an undiclosed amount of cash,” he said.
Follow-up investigations led to the arrest of three suspects, aged 35, 25 and 50 years of age.
In addition to that, police recovered the get-away car and the imitation firearm which had been used to threaten the victim. The suspects appeared in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday March 22.
In a separate incident police were called out to a robbery with a firearm on Saturday March 18, in Sugarloaf Crescent in Tafelsig.
The victim was allegedly driving a delivery truck when he was approached by five men.
“One of the suspects pointed a gun at him while the others searched him and took the bread money as well as jewellery.”
Police eventually arrested three men aged 29, 34 and 34 years old, who were charged with robbery and being in possession of a firearm.
“No shots were fired. The stolen property was recovered by police and the men later appeared in court,” he explained.
Mitchell’s Plain police arrested two suspects after a hijacking incident on Saturday March 18 at Southern Cross Street in Rocklands.
Captain Williams said the incident took place at 3.15am after the victim dropped off a friend at a prayer service.
“He was approached by six men. One of the men pointed a gun at him and drove off in his car.
“No shots were fired and nobody was injured during the altercation,” he said.
A follow-up operation led to the arrest of two men who appeared in court on a charge of hijacking.
“We also recovered the car and a cellphone,” he said.
Captain Williams reported that a shooting took place on Sunday March 19, in Kardouw Street in Tafelsig.
According to reports, the victim was sitting in front of a house in Kardouw Street, when he was approached by an unknown man.
“The man took out a gun and started shooting at him. The victim was not injured. After the shooting, the suspect ran toward a white Kia with an unknown registration and sped off.”
Police later arrested a man, 25, in connection with the shooting and he appeared in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s court on Wednesday March 22.
