The bail application of a senior City of Cape Town official accused of raping and sexually assaulting a Strandfontein teenager has been postponed.
The man was due to appear in Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s Court on Thursday July 30 but the building was closed for decontamination after an administrative officer tested positive for Covid-19.
Rodney Isaacs, acting regional head for the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development, said the court postponed its matters on Thursday morning.
The man was arrested on Friday June 19 and has been in custody at Pollsmoor Prison. His bail application has been postponed to Monday August 17.
