Beacon Hill Secondary School in Beacon Valley celebrated their second annual grandparents’ appreciation day at their school hall on Thursday December 5. The alumni of the school raised R35 000 for the grandparents and they were each given a box full of food and transported home by Angus Transport. Principal Gregory Kannemeyer told the 100 grandparents they deserved more than what they received from the school. “We are aware that you are playing an important role in your families lives. This tradition should carry on when I am not around anymore, we can’t do this enough. You are all great people, and today you can relax and enjoy being a king and queen for the day,” he said.
