Celebrating book characters

West End Primary School, in Lentegeur, was a hive of activity with pupils escaping into the various worlds books have to offer.

West End Primary School pupils dressed up as their favourite book characters.

They came to school on Thursday September 9 dressed up as their favourite book characters in honour of International Literacy Day on Wednesday September 8.

Teacher Qaanita Salie dressed as a wizard.

They had various reading corners and the quad was set up as a fantastical world where stories were told and pupils could escape to in their imagination.
