Car slams into house

A reckless driver caused extensive damage to a house in Lentegeur after he drove into their property.

A case of reckless and negligent driving has been opened at Lentegeur SAPS after a man, 36, drove into a house on the corner of Aloe and Rose streets, in Lentegeur, on Sunday March 26, at 5.45pm.

Warrant Officer Wynita Kleinsmith, spokeswoman for Lentegeur police, said when police arrived on the scene, they found that a grey Ford Focus had driven into the wall of the house, damaging the pipes and tiles.

According to Warrant Officer Kleinsmith the driver abandoned the car before police arrived. “Bystanders confirmed his details and a docket was opened,” she said.
