The Cape Town Concert Series season starts at the Baxter Concert Hall with a recital by the Italian pianist Alessandro Taverna on Saturday August 18.
Four concerts take place from August to November, culminating in a recital by the cellist Raphael Wallfisch who will be accompanied by pianist Albie van Schalkwyk on Saturday November 17.
The concert on Saturday September 22 is titled Chamber Baroque@CTSC and features clarinettist Carin van Heerden with members of Baroque200 from Durban and Cape Town’s Camerata Tinta Barocca. They will play works by Vivaldi, Telemann and other composers.
Violinist Rachel Lee Priday will perform works by Mozart, Strauss, Janacek and Saint-Saëns on Saturday October 27.
