Strandfontein police are calling on witnesses to the decapitation of a biker in Spine Road last week to come forward.
Captain Ian Williams, spokesman for Mitchell’s Plain SAPS, said a case of culpable homicide is being investigated. It is alleged that the biker, 22, was speeding and had collided with another vehicle on Wednesday July 15 at 10:45am.
When the police arrived at the scene, they saw a gold VW Golf, with registration number CA 94110, opposite the Bible College, in Trafalgar Drive, in Strandfontein.
“The vehicle had damage on its left side, including the wheel and tyre. Police also noted a damaged motorcycle in the road,” Captain Williams said.
Captain Williams said the biker was lying some distance from the scene, and his head was off. “Allegedly the motorcycle was speeding when it collided with the vehicle,” he said.
