Mitchell’s Plain are looking for the mother of a new-born baby boy after fishermen fished his body from the sea at Mnandi Beach.
The fishermen, who were angling along Baden Powell Road, on Saturday January 8, at 8pm, pulled the baby’s body from the water, said Mitchell’s Plain SAPS spokesperson Captain Ian Williams.
Western Cape SAPS Sergeant Wesley Twigg said an inquest case docket had been opened at Mitchell’s Plain police station.
No arrests have been made and a post mortem will be done to determine the cause of death, said Mr Twigg.
