■ Community leaders in Ward 43 (which includes Strandfontein, west of Weltevreden Road and Lukannon Road, south of the farms and East of Strandfontein Road; Weltevreden Valley, west of Jakes Gerwel Drive and east of Weltevreden Street; Philippi (Philippi Farms) received certificates acknowledging their contribution to the informal settlements, where they live.
The Plainsman was established in 1980. This long established popular community title includes the key shopping centres the Promenade Mall and Town Centre Shopping Centre within its distribution area.
