A 14-year-old boy was stabbed to death with a pair of scissors in Sentinel Street, Tafelsig, on Monday October 30, at 12.30pm.
According to police, the boy was apparently involved in an argument with a 19-year-old man. He was stabbed twice in the back and died on the scene.
The motive is believed to be gang related.
No arrests has been made and police are investigating a case of murder.

Two men were arrested in connection with a robbery at Jeff’s tyre shop in Dennegeur Avenue, Strandfontein, on Saturday October 21, at 12.30pm.
When the police arrived at the scene they found a silver VW Golf 5 parked halfway in the garage and a man standing around. When asked who he was, he told police that he worked there. The shop owner then came out of the house and informed police that the man was lying and that there were other suspects inside.
The men fled when they heard the police, but with the help of bystanders, their positions were made known and police gave chase. Two men were caught in the vicinity of Spine Road with cash, ammunition, and two pistols which had serial numbers erased.
In the car was the shop owner’s safe.
According to police, the owner’s brother and an employee were found tied up on the floor. No shots were fired.

Four men were arrested for being in possession of illegal firearms and ammunition at the weekend.
A 21-year-old man was arrested for being in possession of a 9mm Norinco firearm with nine rounds in Eastridge on Saturday October 28, at 2.50am.
A 35-year-old man was arrested for being in possession of a Browning pistol with magazine and two 22 live rounds in Waterval Street, Eastridge, on Friday October 27.
The Mitchell’s Plain SAPS Stabilisation Unit was on patrol when they spotted the man and searched him.
A 22-year-old was arrested for being in possession of a silver 38 special Arminius revolver with six .38 special live rounds in Assegaai Street, Eastridge, on Friday October 27. The suspect had injuries on his right hand and is not suspected to be a gang member.
A 21-year-old man was arrested for being in possession of a .38 special revolver with four .38 special live rounds in Malva Street, Eastridge, on Sunday October 29.
The suspect is not a gang member.
A man is wanted for questioning after a house robbery in Hermes Way, Mandalay, on Sunday October 1, at 2am.
Two men, one armed with a firearm, forced open the kitchen door of the home while the family were asleep.
The robbers took cellphones valued at R1 000. Nobody was hurt. According to the police, one man is aged about 30, is about 1.79 metres tall and dark of complexion.

A provincial detective is investigating two cases of murder after Arenzo Meyer, 27, and Bevan Piercen, 30, were shot several times in AZ Berman Drive, Beacon Valley, on Tuesday October 24.
Meyer, who was driving a silver grey Mazda 323, was shot nine times in the chest; and Piercen, in the front passenger seat, was shot seven times, four times in the chest, in the stomach, left hand and the head.
Mitchell’s Plain police spokesperson, Captain Ian Williams, said the shooting was gang related. Police retrieved 14 cartridges from the scene.
No arrests have been made.
