All roads led to Westridge Gardens for the 10th annual DStv Mitchell’s Plain Festival this past weekend.
About 35 000 to 40 000 people attended the festival, of which the Plainsman was a sponsor, from Friday November 30 to Sunday December 2.
On the entertainment line-up on Friday were YoungstaCPT, Shane Eagle and Twinzspin.
On Saturday, Talitha Luiters, Psychotics, Reemay Damons, Psychotics and Kim 28 Dancers took to the stage.
On Sunday, the festival was packed to capacity when music favourites The Monroes, Salome, The Rockets and headliners, Judy Boucher and Sybil, got everybody grooving.
Rozario Brown, the festival director and founder, said the entry points were well controlled by safety personnel.
“This year, the layout for safety was way better than last year. No incidents were reported throughout the weekend.
“We are grateful for the support of the community over the weekend. It was a great success and had a positive outcome. We are all looking forward to next year,” said Mr Brown.
