Every year Sit the Folk Down and Just Music release a Christmas compilation album, showcasing local artists doing classic Christmas tunes in their unique style.
This year’s edition was released on December 1 and can be streamed on digital platforms.
To celebrate this release, Sit the Folk Down will also be hosting a run of outdoor Christmas shows at Café Roux in Noordhoek on Friday December 22, Saturday December 23 and Sunday December 24.
The Misty Cliffs (Nick Turner, Nick Catto and Matt Catto) will be holding down the fort as the house band and a few of the performers from the album will be present throughout the shows, including Gabriel Du Toit (Nomadic Orchestra), Sarah McArthur, Fancy Galada and Stanley Sibande. There will be a gift collection for the less fortunate.
Doors open at 4.30pm and shows start at 5.30pm. Tickets cost from R80. Book through Quicket.
