The Cape Town International Animation Festivalhas announced that Academy Award-winning producer Aron Warner and Academy Award-nominated director Peter Ramsey will be joining this year’s festival line-up.
Presented by Animation SA, the eighth Cape Town International Animation Festival (CTIAF) takes place from Friday March 8 to Sunday March 10 at the River Club in Observatory.
Mr Warner is a writer and Oscar-winning producer of the animated blockbusters Shrek, Shrek 2, Shrek the Third, and Shrek Forever After.
He also produced the animated feature, The Book of Life.
Mr Ramsey is the Oscar-nominated director of Spider-Man:Into the Spider-Verse, which was released in December by Sony Pictures Animation and was announced as the winner of the Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature Film last month.
The CTIAF provides a platform to engage with global industry leaders and hosts business-to-business sessions, producer events,networking opportunities and government panel discussions in addition to student competitions, a family programme and an outreach initiative.
There are also screenings of animated films, talks, workshops and master classes.

Peter, who was the first African American director of an animated feature film for a major studio with Rise of the Guardians, and the first African American director to be nominated for an Oscar in the Best Animated Feature category, will be exploring the topic of diversity in the industry in his talks.”
