Beacon Valley Block A Street Committee held a fun day for the community last week.
Deputy chairperson of Beacon Valley Block A Street Committee, Raeeza Galant, said the event, held on Wednesday December 16, Day of Reconciliation, was the first community event they had hosted.
“We had so much fun with the community. It was successful. Thank you to all who donated and sponsored us with the help of our community members. We could not have done this without them,” said Ms Galant.
Beacon Valley resident Liezel Parsons, 18, said the event was fun, especially for the children. It had kept them off the street and keep them safe.
Community activist Shariefa Herman, has lived in Beacon Valley for 39 years. She has also been feeding the community during Covid-19.
“I’m actively helping the community, and giving back.”
Resident Shireen Neels said they loved cooking for the community. “It is important for them to do this for the community and give back to them,” she said.
